Technology Solutions for the Professional Translator is offered by Dr. Jost Zetzsche and is intended for the working professional interested in deepening his/her knowledge of translation technology. This two-and-a-half-day workshop geared toward the professional translator will help attendees equip themselves with the technological solutions they need to succeed and with an understanding of how to implement those solutions. Day 1 will be focused on computer-aided translation (CAT) tools and translation environment tools (TEnTs). Day 2 will continue with the exploration of translation environment tools in the morning and focus on complex file formats and their processing in the afternoon. Day 3 will deal with data resources and machine translation.

Instructor bio: Jost Zetzsche is an English-to-German translator, a localization and translation consultant, and a widely published author on various aspects of translation. He earned a Ph.D. in the field of Chinese translation history and linguistics. His computer guide for translators, A Translator's Tool Box for the 21st Century, is now in its tenth edition, and his technical newsletter for translators goes out to more than 10,000 translation professionals. He co-authored Found in Translation, a book about translation and interpretation for the general public.
